Game Overview

Hollow Knight: Silksong is the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed Hollow Knight. Developed by Team Cherry, this metroidvania adventure follows Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, as she navigates the mysterious kingdom of Pharloom after being captured and taken prisoner.

As Hornet, players will encounter new enemies, challenging platforming sections, and powerful bosses while uncovering the secrets of this strange new world. With fluid movement mechanics, intricate level design, and a hauntingly beautiful art style, Silksong promises to deliver an experience that expands upon the beloved original.

Central to Hornet's arsenal is the Silkshot - a versatile tool that serves both as a weapon and a traversal device. This ancient weaver weapon can be obtained early in the game and upgraded through various means, significantly impacting your combat capabilities and exploration options.

Silkshot Acquisition Guide

Finding the Ruined Tool

The Silkshot weapon begins as the "Ruined Tool" and can be found in the upper levels of the Mogrinn Weave Nest, located in the southeastern region of Bilewater Marshes.

Look for a hidden passage above the main weaving chambers. You'll need to use your platforming skills to reach this elevated area, navigating past several enemies and environmental hazards.

Silkshot Variants

Once you've obtained the Ruined Tool, you can have it restored by different NPCs throughout Pharloom, each offering a unique variant of the Silkshot with distinct characteristics:

Silkshot Variants

Forge Daughter's Silkshot

Effect: 15 shots. An ancient weaver weapon restored and modified by the Forge Daughter. Requires carapace canister and the user's spirit silk to fire.

Acquisition Method: Find the "Ruined Tool" in the upper level of Mogrinn Weave Nest in southeastern Bilewater Marshes, then take it to the Forge Daughter in Deep Docks for repair. This is one of three possible Silkshot variants - choose carefully as you can only obtain one type initially.

Architect's Silkshot

Effect: 12 shots. An ancient weaver weapon restored and modified by the Architect. Requires carapace canister and the user's spirit silk to fire.

Blacksmith's Silkshot

Effect: 8 shots. An ancient weaver weapon restored to its original form. Requires carapace canister and the user's spirit silk to fire.
